Is a Day-Of Coordinator Worth It?

You’ve spent months planning, saving, and dreaming about your big day. The venue is booked, the dress is perfect, the cake is a masterpiece — and now you’re counting down to “I do.”  But one question keeps popping up for couples everywhere:  “Do we really need a Day-Of Coordinator?”  The short answer? Yes…and not just because I'm great at it!

It’s More Than “Just the Day Of”
The title can be a little misleading. A professional Day-Of Coordinator doesn’t simply show up on wedding day and make magic happen — the work starts long before then. Typically, I begin working with couples three to six months before the wedding, helping them organize, confirm, and polish every detail so the day runs smoothly.  Even if the couple has already done most of the planning and booked their vendors, the loose ends still need to be tied together in a nice bow.

What Am I Actually Paying For?
This is a question that comes up often. As the wedding day gets closer and expenses start adding up, couples sometimes feel that a coordinator is just one more cost.  I always remind my clients that peace of mind is priceless.  So, what do I actually do?

  • Consultations and timeline planning – Reviewing your vision, schedule, and vendors to create a detailed, hour-by-hour plan.

  • Vendor communication – Confirming arrival times, setup needs, and ensuring every vendor knows exactly where to be and when.

  • Venue walkthrough – Planning the layout, ceremony flow, and spotting potential problems before they happen.

  • Rehearsal management – Guiding your wedding party through entrances, cues, and timing so everyone feels confident.

  • On your wedding day: (10–12 hours) – Managing vendors, setup, timelines, ceremony management, reception management.....

  • And a lot more!

A Real Conversation That Reminded Me Why I Do This
I recently connected with a couple who had a wedding budget of up to $30,000. From the very first conversation, I could tell they were thoughtful, organized, and genuinely excited about their big day.  As I walked them through what my Day-Of Coordination package includes — they were excited…saying yes to everything I mentioned. I also shared that I specialize in save-the-dates, invitations, and wedding signage, and that I’m happy to assist with setup if needed.  I even offered references from previous clients. They said I was everything they needed. We discussed my fee, and I asked if they wanted to move forward. The answer? Yes — please send the contract!  But when the time came to sign, they hesitated — saying they wanted to “stay within their budget.”  Of course, I was disappointed, but I completely understand the importance of sticking to a budget. Still, that moment reminded me of something important:  couples don’t realize the hours of preparation that go into making their day seamless.

Couples often invest thousands in flowers, food, and décor — yet hesitate to invest in the one person who ensures all those beautiful details actually come together.  A coordinator’s fee doesn’t just cover one day of work; it covers months of time, energy, and heart poured into making sure your wedding feels peaceful and perfectly aligned.  And truth be told, I always go the extra mile. I often include finishing touches like beautiful signage or small décor details that tie everything together — not because I have to, but because I genuinely care about creating a moment that feels complete.

Peace of Mind Is Priceless
When you hire a Day-Of Coordinator, you’re not just paying for a service — you’re investing in calm, order, and joy. You’re choosing to actually enjoy the wedding you’ve spent so much time planning.  At Very Blessed Events, I believe your wedding day should be beautiful, organized, and covered in grace. My goal is simple: to serve with excellence, calm the chaos, and make sure your “I do” day runs smoothly and is flawlessly executed.

Choosing The Perfect Invitation

The question was popped!  The answer was “Yes”! Now what? It’s time to start planning your dream wedding, starting with the perfect wedding invitation! Are wedding invitations still a thing? Yes! The wedding invitation is one of the most essential parts of planning a wedding because it sets the tone of what guests are to expect on the wedding day, while at the same time helping them prepare for your event. It not only tells them who, what, when, where and what time, but it also communicates your vision and unique style. Your vision leaps off the page and speaks to your guests when they unveil a beautiful, unique wedding invitation that is tailored to your personality.

No two wedding couples are alike and there is no “cookie-cutter” invitation design. Whether you select a simple, one layer invitation, rustic “shabby-chic” theme or a three-layer pocket invitation with glitter, belly band, and a custom monogram, your wedding invitation should reflect your vision.

Do we include a traditional RSVP? Should guests respond online? It’s totally up to you! Younger couples may want to do away with traditional RSVP cards, opting for online responses instead. But, will Great Aunt Bertha respond online? This is something to consider when choosing your design and invitation style and content.
