Why I Wrote the Very Blessed Events Wedding Planning Guide
How It All Began
Every now and then, something in my work makes me stop and take a closer look at the way I do things. I’m always trying to improve my service and stay up to date with trends. Coming fresh off the release of my new wedding planning guide, I wanted to share the story of how one small idea grew into the Very Blessed Events Wedding Planning Guide.
A Recent Conversation
Recently, I had a conversation with a potential client who didn’t quite understand what a day-of coordinator actually does. It wasn’t a negative situation—it just made me realize how much of my work happens behind the scenes. After almost 20 years in this industry, I sometimes forget that people don’t always see the detailed process that goes into a wedding day.
Taking a Look at “The List”
Later that day, I pulled out my checklist—the same list I’ve built, updated, and used for every wedding. As I looked through it, I was reminded of how much information I’ve gathered over the years: timelines, vendor contacts, ceremony cues, small reminders, and all the things couples don’t think about until the last minute.
Looking Back at Client Reviews
I also revisited a few of my past client reviews. Not for reassurance, but because they reflect real experiences and real weddings (not just reviews from my friends). Reading those reviews reminded me of why I enjoy what I do and how much smoother a wedding day can be when things are organized.
From Loose Pages to Something More
Then I took another look at “The List.” Eight sheets of loose paper. Helpful, but not exactly convenient. That’s when the idea came to create something more polished and practical.
I started reformatting the checklist so it would be easier for couples to use. Then I added a few more sections—things people always ask me about or tend to forget. Before I knew it, the pages started forming a full planning guide instead of just a checklist or a set of notes. What began as eight loose sheets eventually became 28 pages of helpful information and guidance for couples during the planning process.
The Guide Comes to Life
And that’s how the Very Blessed Events Wedding Planning Guide came together. One idea turned into something practical, useful and easy to follow.
